Snr Engineering Technician II, Field Service

Responsibilities
Demonstrate advanced understanding of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and the interaction between process equipment and environmental systems
Proactively identify safety risks related to chemical handling, gas delivery, and tool operations, and act as a subject matter resource for peers in high‑risk maintenance activities
Apply understanding of process flows to correlate tool performance with yield‑impacting defects and process deviations
Collaborate with process engineering and Field Service Engineers to fine‑tune equipment parameters and support troubleshooting efforts that require both hardware and process insight
Partner with Field Service Engineers on complex troubleshooting by integrating data from multiple subsystems and applying deep system‑level knowledge to isolate root causes
Collaborate across engineering and field teams to implement durable corrective actions and continuously refine diagnostic approaches
Build enhanced product knowledge across multiple tool types, including system architecture, key components, and common failure modes
Use this expertise to perform advanced troubleshooting, support upgrades, and provide guidance to junior technicians and customers in the field
Provide clear technical updates to customers, set realistic expectations, and ensure timely resolution of service issues aligned with customer production goals
Own service responsibility across 2 ASM toolsets, including complex configurations
Perform root‑cause analysis and support cross‑functional escalations with clear and structured technical documentation
Apply troubleshooting strategies using a deep understanding of tool architecture, process integration, and the interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components
Proactively identify performance trends related to gas delivery, thermal control, and process deviations, and drive resolution through collaboration with engineering and field teams
Mentor peers on diagnostic methods and contribute to the refinement of troubleshooting protocols based on lessons learned
Qualification
Required
Technical school diploma (2‑year program), OR BS with 1–3 years of experience, OR 7+ years of relevant technical experience in fab, OEM, or advanced manufacturing environments
Proven experience working with complex semiconductor or similar process equipment
Ability to independently perform installation, maintenance, repair, and on‑site customer support across multiple tool types
Strong working knowledge of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and safe work practices in high‑risk environments
Ability to perform structured root‑cause analysis and contribute effectively to cross‑functional escalations
Strong documentation and communication skills for capturing issues, trends, and technical updates
Readiness to obtain and maintain ASM GTC Level 3 certification
Preferred
Experience identifying and managing safety risks related to chemical handling, gas delivery, and tool operations
Experience collaborating closely with Process Engineers and Field Service Engineers on complex, yield‑related troubleshooting
Demonstrated ability to link tool performance to process flows and yield deviations
Experience implementing durable corrective actions and refining diagnostics across engineering and field teams
Broad product knowledge across multiple tool types, including understanding of system architecture, key components, and common failure modes
Experience mentoring junior technicians in diagnostic methods and structured problem‑solving approaches such as 5 Whys or 8D
Strong customer‑facing communication skills, including setting realistic expectations and aligning service activities with customer production plans
