Responsibilities

Collaborate with Digital Sculptors, Materials Teams, and production partners/vendors to inform production capabilities and limitations
Consider the potential cost impact of design, production, and technology choices
Build production-ready digital assets, technical drawings, and specs of varied products

Required

Ability to proficiently build/communicate design concepts through 3D design software while showcasing innovative and creative design solutions, with a strong emphasis on complex CAD surface modeling and design
Ability to process ideas through physical prototyping/mockup creation with strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies
Effective understanding of the detailed relationship between aesthetics/function and ergonomics, human factors, and user experience

Must submit your best 10 pieces of artwork
Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student level with a degree in: Industrial Design, Product Design, Toy Design, Themed Entertainment Design, Animatronics, or Mechanical Engineering
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Possess a valid US driver's license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

Preferred

Proficiency in 3D CAD Software. (e.g. Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion360, Rhino)
Recognizable passion for 3D Printing, model making, Toy Design, 3D scanning, Costume Design, prop making, etc
Experience with digital sculpting tools (e.g. Zbrush, Blender, Maya)
Collaborative problem solver with the ability to communicate/work with cross-functional teams
