Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Responsibilities
Partner with multiple departments to identify hazards and uncover opportunities for safety improvements
Lead and conduct investigations for all incidents and accidents, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
Coordinate and deliver engaging safety training to keep our workforce informed and empowered
Health side Ergonomic program, workers comp, tracking first aids and near misses and reportable, 5s program
Actively coach operations teams —attend meetings, conduct facility inspections, and investigate incidents alongside leadership
Perform inspection audits on processes and equipment to ensure all safety standards are met
Align efforts of consultants with manufacturing, maintenance, and tooling schedules
Promote team involvement activities to improve safety systems and boost operational efficiency
Track and analyze safety data to identify trends, providing actionable insights to operational teams (KPI tracking)
Take on additional responsibilities as needed—this role evolves as our department grows and adapts
Manage ISO 14001 program, including internal and external compliance audits
Develop environmental metrics for sustainability and corporate initiatives
Maintain monthly spreadsheets for GHG emissions and ensure adherence to compliance reporting calendars
Serve as Gatekeeper for SWPPP & BMP plans (renewals, quarterly audits, training)
Oversee SPCC plan and monthly audits
Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including:
Semi-annual Emission Surveys (Air Permit compliance)
Annual Compliance Certification (DEP 7007CC)
Annual TRI Form R reporting
Annual Tier 2 reporting
Quarterly Wastewater & E-Coat reports (HWEA permit compliance)
Semi-annual Storm Water reporting
Facilitate semi-annual opacity training for environmental technicians
Complete corporate environmental tracking spreadsheets (monthly LV spreadsheet for sales, hazardous & nonhazardous waste, water, metal scrap, landfill, recycling, air emissions, and frame builds)
Maintain monthly usage spreadsheets for ovens/boilers, wire, chemicals, and water
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree EHS or occupational safety or in a related field with 2–5 years of experience, OR 2–5 years of Health Environmental or Safety experience in manufacturing (required)
Experience in wastewater treatment
Experience with OSHA 300 log
Strong understanding of automated manufacturing processes
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Solid knowledge of OSHA/EPA/ANSI regulations (OSHA 30 preferred)
Team Player & Communication Skills
Basic knowledge of chemical and hazardous waste management
Preferred
Automotive industry or manufacturing experience preferred
First Aid/CPR certification preferred
