Instructional Associate - Liberal Education Advancement and Development
Austin Community College is a public two-year institution that serves a multicultural population of approximately 41,000 credit students each Fall and Spring semester. The Instructional Associate for the Liberal Education Advancement and Development initiative will provide support to instructional programs, assisting in administrative, promotional, and program development tasks while managing ongoing projects and expanding program offerings.

Responsibilities
Assist in executing strategies for the cohesion of programs and to increase visibility on campuses
Under the direction of project leadership, collaborate with instructional and cross-campus departments to support alignment and scale of the program's initiatives
Help improve the quality and scale of program events through thoughtful planning and resource coordination
Assist in creating, implementing, and analyzing student and faculty surveys
Help program leaders assess program strengths and opportunities based upon qualitative and quantitative measures
Assist in the development and production of reporting on a consistent and annual basis; for example, the annual report produced by the program and/or grant reports
Maintain program resources like a repository of learning toolkits, pedagogical resources, and redesigned curriculum materials
Produce, coordinate, and disseminate promotional information about LEAD initiatives and programs in collaboration with key college offices like the Office of College Relations and Marketing (OCRM) and the Teaching and Learning Excellence Division (TLED) to produce videos showcasing the work done in individual programs, for example. Videos could also highlight the interdisciplinary nature of the Liberal Arts and serve as educational tools for students in the various programs
Maintain attendance logs for adjunct faculty meetings and track relevant correspondence
Organize, collate, and maintain program materials and documents like spreadsheets, handouts, and databases
Manage event planning logistics, including LEAD events, the ACC in Bloom Symposium, retreats, and administrative meetings
Assist in the coordination, scheduling, and calendaring of Communities of Practice (CoP) meetings
Manage and direct program inquiries to the appropriate entities, both on campus and off, ie, grants offices external to the college
Respond and route communication
In collaboration with AVC's Executive Administrative Assistant, coordinate, manage, and process grant-related transactions
Supporting communication, engagement, research, and problem-solving with ACC's grants office
Qualification
Required
Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards
Experience in event planning and project management
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including faculty and tech teams
Ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgment
A commitment to establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff representing multicultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Dynamic, non-traditional instructional delivery methods to teach students of widely varying levels of proficiency and from various backgrounds and abilities
Appropriate and up-to-date knowledge of the discipline and subject matter
Experience using technology as an instructional aide where appropriate to enhance learning
Documented experience with active and applied teaching and learning methodologies
A strong commitment to teaching in a community college setting, including teaching practices that reflect an understanding of the multicultural classroom and the benefits of cultural awareness and sensitivity in the classroom and the workplace
Commitment to a diverse workforce

Ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills and backgrounds
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with varied and diverse groups from the community as well as students, staff, faculty, and administration
Strength in communication media, both verbal and written, as well as listening
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to maintain an established schedule, including evenings and weekends, including possible multiple campus locations that may vary by semester
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student information
Understanding of what it means to teach in a community college environment that serves often underprepared and underrepresented students

Preferred
Master's degree in a Humanities or related field according to the latest Faculty Qualifications Table
