Electrical Superintendent
Project Talent Partners is supporting a General Contractor in their search for an Electrical Superintendent. The role involves overseeing safety standards, quality execution, and communication among various stakeholders while leading a team to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
Responsibilities
Set the standard by modeling and actively promoting the Company’s Safety First philosophy, clearly communicating expectations and the importance of compliance as a condition of continued employment
Instruct team members on Company-wide and site-specific safety requirements, with follow-up to confirm adherence
Consistently address and correct safety violations involving any personnel to reinforce a strong safety culture on every project
Promote, educate, and support the effective implementation and use of the Pre-Task Plan (PTP)
Collaborate with the Site Safety Coordinator and Division Safety Manager to review PTP audits throughout the project lifecycle, recommending adjustments to improve overall program effectiveness
Lead by example in upholding and reinforcing the Company’s Quality Installation Standards
Train subordinates on Company and site-specific quality expectations and verify compliance through follow-up
Participate with the full construction team in planning the detailed project schedule, site-specific safety execution plan, equipment utilization strategy, document turnover plan, and manpower requirements
Complete detailed material and equipment takeoffs to support estimating, budgeting, and execution of work; takeoffs must be sufficient to generate Purchase Orders with accurate cost coding, taxes, and associated costs
Review, interpret, and educate subordinates on all drawings, specifications, and contractual documents to ensure work is performed in accordance with site-specific requirements
Oversee installed work to confirm it meets Company standards and project-specific quality requirements
Monitor and report daily and weekly usage of labor hours, equipment, and materials to ensure execution remains within approved budgets; adjust staffing, tools, equipment, or materials as needed to achieve project goals
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Owners, Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, and Company leadership
Coordinate the flow of information between Owners, Contractors, Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, and senior Company management to support informed decision-making across the project
Provide timely verbal and written guidance to subordinates to assist with managing schedules, costs, scope changes, delays, coordination with other contractors, engineer deliverables, vendor deliverables, and equipment utilization needs
Follow up with all foremen to ensure safety equipment, materials, process equipment, and tools are delivered to the jobsite on time to support planned work activities
Direct all work with integrity, strong ethics, and positive work habits to ensure alignment with the Company’s Mission Statement
Supervise subordinates daily and hold them accountable for fulfilling their assigned project responsibilities
Recommend improvements to the site superintendent and/or project manager to enhance overall project performance and ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met or exceeded
Review and approve foremen-reported man-hours to confirm accuracy of both hours worked and cost coding
In coordination with the site superintendent and project manager, manage and update monthly forecasts covering labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment costs
Qualification
Required
Four to eight years of experience in Leadman and Foreman roles
Demonstrated record of excellent attendance with previous employers and/or the Company
Strong understanding of the Company's Safety First philosophy, demonstrated through actions and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
Solid understanding of the Company's Quality Installation Standards, with demonstrated compliance to all QA/QC processes and procedures
Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and all project-related requirements
Advanced skill level and a documented history of above-average performance within their trade or area of expertise
Ability to anticipate upcoming work and effectively plan execution to meet schedule and cost objectives
Strong personal time management skills
Effective listening abilities and clear verbal communication skills
Ownership of all personal tools and devices required to perform assigned work
Basic computer proficiency in Word and Excel, with working knowledge of Primavera scheduling and COINS reports for project cost forecasting
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license
