The role involves collaborating with the Executive Director and Board to develop donor prospects, manage grant applications, and oversee fundraising activities.

Responsibilities
Develops and secures new and existing grant applications from government and private sources
Develops and maintains an annual fund solicitation and report schedule; prepares all direct mail pieces including solicitations and acknowledgements
Assists Board with the integration of special event fundraising and annual fund. We currently have 3 fundraisers, a Coldest Night of the Year Walk, a Golf Tournament and an Annual Dinner
Actively works with Executive Director and Board to integrate marketing efforts with development to ensure maximum exposure and fundraising opportunities
Performs prospect research on individuals and recommends solicitation strategies
Actively participates in program planning and developing the yearly development schedule
Assists with the evaluation and implementation of donor perquisite strategies – particularly for corporations and foundations
Works with volunteers to secure annual gifts, host cultivation events and conduct face-to-face solicitations
Coordinates efforts of volunteers responsible for special events. Provides leadership and resources necessary to reach goals
Researches new and existing foundation sources for general and restricted funding
Maintains all donor files and records
Coordinates efforts with Volunteer/PR Director
Works with Insurance Carrier to get insurance certificates for grants and funders
Assures Corporate Compliance and investigates as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
1 - 3 years of fundraising experience
Computer literacy including word processing and spreadsheet proficiency (Windows based platform)
Prior use of fundraising database (we use Bloomerang)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and accurately
Ability to handle confidential information
Ability to meet deadlines
Preferred
Fundraising generalist with multiple skill sets
