Responsibilities
Assess new matters and develop case action plans, budgets, and recommendations
Identify pleading requirements and coordinate workflow, including delegation to paralegals when appropriate
Draft and manage discovery responses, including document collection, review strategy, and productions
Oversee eDiscovery processes and support document review protocols, issue tagging, and privilege considerations
Attend depositions, hearings, and discovery events, then deliver clear written reporting and next-step recommendations
Support motion practice by gathering key facts, organizing exhibits, and assisting with filings and deadlines
Negotiate settlements, secure client authority, and help prepare matters for mediation or trial as needed
Maintain consistent communication with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure deadlines and deliverables stay on track
Qualification
Required
1–5 years of practice experience in litigation (civil litigation experience strongly preferred)
Licensed to practice law in Virginia, DC, or Maryland (active bar membership required)
Comfort managing multiple matters, shifting deadlines, and competing priorities
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through on assignments
Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating within a team structure
Clear, professional communication skills with a client-service mindset
Interest or experience in eDiscovery and document review workflows is a plus
Juris Doctorate (JD) or equivalent
Bar license in Virginia, DC, or Maryland
