Responsibilities
You'll review and provide feedback for sustainability projects in accordance with District and program policies and procedures for College construction bond operations
You'll implement the electrification of central plants and other building systems outlined in the Board of Trustees’ Clean Energy Resolution passed in July 9, 2020
You'll apply knowledge of Sustainable Building Principles and Standards to assist with complex systems level issues
You'll support districtwide energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification initiatives
You'll apply knowledge of energy and environmental sustainability approaches, such as LEED credits, and its related impacts to operational efficiency
You'll understand Title 24 and ASHRAE recommendations
You'll coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in conjunction with Project Managers, to meet project requirements and timelines
You'll assist College Project Teams (CPT’s) with technical issues that require second opinions i.e. peer review of Request For Clarifications (RFC’s), Change Orders, etc
You'll travel to and from project sites upon request of attending project and construction meetings
You'll be involved in all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design, construction, and closeout
You'll perform electrical engineering analysis and technical reports supporting District design guidelines
You'll ensure integration of LED lighting systems, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart controls
You'll perform other related duties as assigned by the PMO and LACCD
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience and consulting, with a focus on power systems design for facilities infrastructure
Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24 Energy Code, National Electrical Code (NEC), California Code of Regulations Part 11 (Cal Green Code) and applicable electrical engineering standards
2 years' experience in Educational Facility Construction
Preferred
Experience and/or certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering from a State Board in the U.S
Minimum 2 years of DSA experience and/or similar jurisdiction
