Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for existing mechanical components and subsystems
Lead or support Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts using Six Sigma DMAIC methodology
Perform first-order calculations, analyze data, and summarize insights to support design decisions
Identify and apply relevant engineering standards, best practices, and expert resources
Lead or participate in team meetings with suppliers to manage existing and new components from concept through production
Interface with internal systems to obtain, update, or manage design and engineering data
Collaborate with design engineers, shop floor teams, suppliers, and internal customers
Investigate shop floor issues and conduct root-cause analysis
Develop, review, and implement corrective action plans
Assemble/disassemble prototype components or subsystems as needed
Perform detailed inspections of new or field-returned components
Conduct informal and formal design reviews
Support documentation of solutions, updates, and process improvements
Investigate and troubleshoot shop floor issues
Conduct root-cause analysis and develop solutions
Review solutions with design engineering teams
Support documentation and implementation of fixes
Collaborate with suppliers or internal engineering teams as required
Qualification
Required
1–3+ years of engineering experience (internships not counted)
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints
Basic engine component and system knowledge
Strong written communication and MS Office proficiency
Demonstrated leadership in group settings
Comfortable interacting with shop floor technicians
Preferred
Experience with CREO or similar 3D modeling tools
Component-level design experience (castings, fabrications, injection‑molded polymers)
Engine system-level design experience
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Self-starter who can thrive in environments with limited formal processes
