Disney Live Entertainment Character Development Intern, Summer/Fall 2026

Responsibilities

Collaborate with other contributing disciplines to achieve project goals
Assist in the research and exploration of new technologies for character entertainment
Support the development and testing of hardware and software prototypes
Help prepare documentation, presentations, and technical packets
Contribute to the organization and sustainment of internal databases and file systems
Shadow and collaborate with engineers and designers on active projects
Assist in sourcing components and materials for development and production
Support the team in maintaining and updating bill of materials (BOMs)

Required

Coursework or hands-on experience in electrical engineering, software development, mechatronics, or related fields
Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Python
Interest in control systems, robotics, or interactive technologies
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented, creative environment
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Possess a valid US driver's license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

Preferred

Exposure to embedded systems, motor controllers, or robotics is a plus
Experience with tools such as VS Code, KiCad, Fusion 360, SolidWorks
Familiarity with Git workflows
Interest in costume construction, technical documentation, or entertainment technology
Multilingual skills (French, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin) are a plus
