Responsibilities
Facilitate authorized user network and service access by providing initial technical support for security, networking and telecom. Follows pre-defined processes and procedures for troubleshooting. Notes deficiencies in processes and procedures and escalates as needed. Updates knowledge base, incident response plans, tickets, and change controls
Provide support for password and logon issues by following documented procedures
First responder for anomaly detection through security alerts (emails/phone calls)
First responder for networking and telecom support
First responder for Security and Networking preventative, detective and administrative controls. Current security controls include: ¿Malware detection/prevention ¿Network access controls ¿E-mail spam and virus filtering ¿Web browser proxy filtering ¿Drive Encryption Protection ¿Remote access and two-factor authentication
Perform re-occurring signature updates and patches to security technologies
Generates metrics/reports on effectiveness of controls
Track and report on server security baseline deviations and compliance with security standards
Performs patch reconnaissance on security and networking technologies
Administer the Cisco network infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting network port errors and/or configuring new ports for as required
Manages Security Awareness Training provisioning
Responsible for tracking and reporting of audit or internal vulnerability assessments
Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences across functions
In disaster response scenarios performs critical duties in the Business Continuity response
Participate in occasional after hours and weekend maintenance windows for changes to security and network systems, participate in on-call rotation
Must make best effort to be reachable by cell phone during nights and weekends in order to respond in case of disasters that may occur during off hours
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience in the IT Security or Network Operations Field
Minimum two years of experience Cisco infrastructure administration
Minimum of two years of experiences practicing ITIL framework based processes such as Change, Problem, and Incident management in an enterprise environment
Strong understanding of Local & Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) and should possess a firm grasp of TCP/IP fundamentals
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment while continuing to progress on longer term project completion
Ability to work independently as well as on a team to accurately complete tasks
Strong problem solving skills
Superior written and oral communication skills to include; demonstrated experience in writing and /or editing security policies, procedures, and documentation a must
Excellent customer service skills with ability to assist customers remotely over the telephone under pressure
Must be organized, extremely detail oriented and able to work collaboratively with employee at all levels within an organization
Preferred
Working knowledge of firewall technologies. Checkpoint preferred
College degree in relevant field a plus
Industry certifications preferred, not required. (Security+, CEH, CISSP)
