Associate Deployment Engineer
Game Creek Video is a company focused on technical activities in the broadcast industry, and they are seeking an Associate Deployment Engineer to assist with the execution of technical projects and support mobile unit builds. The role involves hands-on deliverables, documentation, collaboration with internal teams, and technical skills development.
Responsibilities
Assist in all aspects of truck systems maintenance and upgrade projects across the fleet
Provide support to Systems Architects with implementation and configuration tasks in new and existing systems
Offer support to on-site engineers throughout new mobile unit builds, core systems maintenance tasks, and fleet-wide upgrade projects
Support on-site teams, including integration teams and manufacturers, to ensure work is completed within the allotted time frame
Under the guidance and supervision of Systems Architects, ensure consistency in project deployment by adhering to established deployment procedures, or by creating that documentation should none exist
Provide up-to-date issue status reporting via online task management system to ensure all parties are fulfilling responsibilities (from issue creation to final resolution)
Communicate potential technical risks to the Systems Architecture team regarding trucks related issues, equipment, and mobile unit team
Contribute detailed summary of work performed to Post Show Reports
Provide support to Systems Architects and engineering teams during technical maintenance windows in advanced technical support cases
Consume training content in classroom and self-guided settings to build foundational technical knowledge
Deliver guidance and training to apprentices on assigned topics
Provide feedback for efficiencies as encountered during test and configuration
Provide assistance and guidance to other Deployment Engineers to interpret drawings and enhance builds
Maintain an organized work environment, with a specific focus on orderliness and cleanliness of the shop
Participate in the hand-off of tested systems to engineering and operations as functional assets
Read and understand cable wirelists as well as project drawings and documentation for wire and systems testing
Apply understanding of signal flow to work on testing procedures with installation team
Routinely maintain stock of tools and test equipment
Qualification
Required
Intermediate knowledge of broadcast technology and remote production systems
Intermediate computer/IT skills, including experience with networking, subnets, and IP configuration
Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to others in a clear and concise manner
Ability to recognize when alternative action may be needed; escalate as the situation requires to reach successful outcomes
Ability to work in a team-focused environment to execute tasks, solve problems, and deliver a world class product
Must be a self-motivated and passionate team player with strong attention to detail
Ability to focus on results and desired outcomes and how to best achieve them; executes accordingly and gets the job done
Excellent time management skills; must be able to effectively multi-task while being flexible to a constant state of flux
Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information
Completion of GCV apprenticeship program or 1-3+ years of experience in remote broadcast engineering
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and build strong relationships
Ability to work effectively with diverse styles, skills, and abilities
Ability to delegate and lead teams effectively
Knowledge of various broadcast equipment
Ability to travel 10+% of the time
Airline travel required; possess or be willing to acquire a U.S. passport
Must be able to walk or stand up to 8 hours at a time
Ability to bend, squat, kneel on both knees and climb stairs frequently
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. frequently
Ability to carry 50 lbs. a distance of 50 feet occasionally
Ability to pinch (10 lbs.) and grip (50 lbs.) related broadcast equipment
Must be able to maintain a position within a space 3.5 - 4 feet tall for up to 1 minute, occasionally
Ability to horizontally transfer 40 lbs. on a push-pull cart up to 50 feet
Ability to vertically transfer 50 lbs. on push-pull system w/ upper extremities only from 4.5–6 ft
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
Preferred
BA/BS in Engineering or other advanced technical degree preferred
