Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Construction Specialties, Inc. is a specialty building products manufacturer that provides solutions to building challenges. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will focus on identifying waste and opportunities to improve flow, analyzing product flow methods, and reducing labor hours and waste through value stream mapping.

Responsibilities
Capable of value stream mapping the process of door production from scheduling through shipping with little hand holding
Identify waste, duplication efforts, idleness and opportunities to improve flow, quality and speed
Monitor the times to complete tasks and measure these against the shop order (standard times) to report on findings in a clear and transparent way
The candidate will need to interface individually, through group sessions and brainstorming to problem solve and assure measurable outcome opportunities
Qualification
Required
Requires a mature and safety minded approach to operating in the manufacturing environment
Must be a rising junior or senior undergraduate student majoring in an accredited degree program for Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Quality, Mechanical or Mechatronics type disciplines where candidates have manufacturing operations as an interest
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
Capable of using charts, pareto, images and data to make a compelling case for changes
