Physician Services Credentialing Intern
Real Radiology, LLC is seeking a Credentialing Summer Intern to support their credentialing and provider enrollment teams. This role offers hands-on experience with healthcare operations and compliance, focusing on ensuring that all physicians and advanced practice providers meet necessary standards for practicing within the health system.

Responsibilities
Assist in collecting, organizing, and maintaining provider documents such as licenses, certifications, insurance, and education records
Support primary source verification activities under supervision (e.g., education, work history, board certification)
Help prepare and update credentialing and re-appointment files in accordance with accreditation standards (NCQA, CMS, Joint Commission)
Participate in data entry and quality checks within credentialing database (e.g., CAQH, FCVS, NPDB, QGenda or equivalent)
Assist with payer enrollment activities, including application preparation, tracking, and follow-up communications
Conduct internal audits to ensure file completeness, accuracy, and compliance
Collaborate with internal departments such as HR, Provider Services, Medical Staff Office, and Recruitment teams to support provider onboarding
Help maintain organized digital and physical credentialing records
Attend team meetings, observe credentialing committee review processes, and assist with special projects as assigned
Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing workflow enhancements
Qualification
Preferred
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Public Health
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Compliance or related field
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
