Electronics and Control Engineer-Senior

Responsibilities

Design and integration of vehicle electronics and control systems: Develop and specify harness, instrumentation, and electronic component requirements
Responsible for system architecture design and device programing and setup
Develop and maintain system communication protocols and documentation
Manage supplier technical interactions
Develop and manage test requirements and planning when applicable
Specify harness and communication requirements for series related data logging system
Complete necessary reporting and interaction with Corvette GT3 Customer Support Program team to promote solutions to the customer program
Maintenance and operation of the vehicles systems not limited to: Develop and maintain the operating configurations for the various systems
Manage associated documentation and distribution of updates for internal teams and customer vehicle fleet
Inspecting, installing, and modifying vehicle electrical harnesses and instrumentation
Maintenance and operation of power distribution and vehicle control systems not limited to: Develop, calibrate, and maintain vehicle control code for internal and customer team applications
Simulation and testing of feature developments
Customer request development, integration, and feedback
Maintain a feature timeline and development plan
Manage associated documentation and distribution of updates for internal teams and customer vehicle fleet
These control systems include, but are not limited to: Traction Control, ABS, Clutch control, Driver feedback and dash systems, Scrutineering systems, Embedded fuel/energy consumption strategies, Interaction between Chassis and Powertrain Systems, Simulation and hardware in the loop integration
Race and Test Event support: Race and test event support when required. This could be in support of an internal team and/or customer support
Internal team support and testing duties could include but are not limited to: Operation and programming of data acquisition and control systems, Verification, maintenance and replacement of instrumentation and electronics equipment, Data downloading and distribution, Telemetry monitoring, Participate in troubleshooting, Data review related to vehicle system and instrumentation operation, Assisting in setup and teardown of equipment, Other various activities suited to skill set
Series specific and customer program support can include any of the above-mentioned duties but are dependent on the support level expectation and requirements
This role will interface heavily with our primary supplier and customer base. Overall communication and interaction are expected to be handled in a collaborative manner for the overall improvement of performance and execution
The role will be expected to interact with other groups within Pratt & Miller, and outside in relation to execution of duties not limited to: Organization, participation, and collaboration in meetings, Support and project related travel
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required: Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development as necessary, Provide feedback on product needs and processes, Support Program Management Office on process developments and improvements

Required

BS in engineering or other advanced technical background
5+ years or greater of Motorsports experience with a focus on vehicle electronics and controls systems
Advanced engineering background covered as part of duties outlined above
Extensive knowledge of CAN based system programming, architecture, and operation
Experience covering a range of vehicle data acquisition system tools
Advanced experience in data processing
Basics knowledge in different programming languages
