2+ years expCity of Eagan is looking for positive, energetic, and organized individuals to assist in community events. The Recreation Program Assistant will focus on implementing summer experiences, specifically coordinating Market Fest and leading onsite staff for community events.

Responsibilities
Assist in the coordination, planning, and day-to-day implementation of Market Fest, Friday Fun Days, and community events
Work with and provide service to individuals from diverse backgrounds (age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, etc.)
Provide exceptional customer service, including communication both verbally and in writing
Serve as on-site lead staff member for programs and events as assigned
Communicate with supervisory staff to keep them informed of any concerns or issues related to staff, participants, or community individuals
Request materials and supplies as needed
Complete weekly reports as requested by Supervisor and/or Programmer
Lead staff in set-up, take-down, and basic cleaning of program area
Administer basic first aid as needed – training provided!
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Job seekers should be 18 years of age or older
Valid Driver's License
College coursework toward or degree in Parks and Recreation or related field
Possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers and program implementation
Preferred
Previous experience with a Parks and Recreation agency or related field/setting
CPR and First Aid Certifications
Two (2) years of college coursework in recreation, education, event planning, or closely related field OR Two (2) years of work experience in recreation-oriented programs, event planning, education, or closely related setting
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Knowledge of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department and its programs
