Responsibilities
Evaluate title risk and make underwriting determinations for commitments and policies
Respond to complex underwriting inquiries from internal teams and external partners
Research and interpret federal and state statutes, regulations, court rulings, and professional guidance
Develop bulletins, alerts, educational materials, and technical reference resources for staff and agents
Support agent underwriting reviews and quality assurance initiatives
Collaborate with internal teams across Claims, Compliance, and Agency functions
Participate in cross-functional projects focused on risk mitigation and underwriting best practices
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution
Active Bar License in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
7+ years of experience in title insurance underwriting and/or real estate legal practice
Strong written communication and legal research skills
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred
Experience in multi-state underwriting authority
Experience providing advisory support and training to agents or internal teams
Familiarity with regulatory compliance in title insurance
