Responsibilities
Interview loan applicants to determine eligibility for an HFLS Small Business Loan; prepare business summaries and financial projections and present them to the HFLS loan committee at its monthly meetings
Pull and review credit reports, send required forms to loan guarantors, ensure the receipt of required documents, and promptly enter all data and documents in Salesforce throughout the application process and loan closing
Facilitate and lead webinars to provide entrepreneurs with relevant information about the HFLS Small Business Loan Program; assist with the development and promotion of targeted marketing campaigns to diversify and expand the pool of small business loan applicants
Represent HFLS at relevant events, conferences, and meetings; proactively cultivate and strengthen relationships with diverse community-based organizations and boards, Business Improvement Districts, and other stakeholders
Respond to borrower and applicant inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner, referring them to other community resources when relevant
Conduct annual borrower survey to collect information about business survival, borrower income, and other data points that demonstrate the impact of HFLS Small Business Loans; analyze and report results to the Director and Small Business Loan Committee
Qualification
Required
Commitment to HFLS's mission
At least two years of professional experience working with entrepreneurs and small business owners, demonstrating progressive responsibility
Knowledge of basic accounting principles; able to prepare business financials, financial projections, and cash flow statements in Excel
Self-directed and a team player, able to function well independently and in a dynamic, collaborative environment
High level of emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity (HFLS serves a culturally and religiously diverse population, and many borrowers are facing difficult personal and financial situations)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Experience using Salesforce
Familiarity with Metro2 credit reporting
Foreign language proficiency
