$23/hr - $23/hrBasin Electric Power Cooperative is seeking a Student Intern for their Safety and Health department. The intern will support the compliance and safety management system, conduct industrial hygiene surveys, assist in safety training programs, and manage safety data sheets.

Responsibilities
Provide support for Compliance, Safety and Industrial Hygiene programs to ensure regulatory compliance and continuously improve performance
Develop working knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations
Conduct Continuous Improvement Observations and perform related follow-up action
Conducts industrial hygiene surveys throughout the plant site to identify and/or evaluate areas of possible employee exposure to hazardous chemicals and physical agents
Advise field supervision on the appropriate selection or use of protective equipment
Assist in the development and presentation of safety training programs for all employees
Provide assistance during investigations of basic accidents or injuries and prepares internal reports for follow-up and corrective action
Manage the development of company product Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company SDS database
Provide proper record keeping tools and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory records management
Assist in the management and administration of various safety programs
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age
Be enrolled as a full-time student four-year Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related program with Sophomore year completed, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months)
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
Hold a valid driver's license
Transcript required at time of application
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Research and analytical thinking
Microsoft Office proficiency
Organization and attention to detail
Data entry and recordkeeping
Team collaboration
Initiative and adaptability
Confidentiality and professionalism
Fieldwork or technical hands-on aptitude
