Craft-Worker Intern - Power Plant Operations

Responsibilities
Check operation of pulverizers, coal feeders, scales, sumps, hotwells, heater drains, air compressors, heater levels, filters, and conveying equipment
Make routine inspections on and around assigned equipment and report any irregularities to the unit operator
Take readings and record same: Change charts on recording meters and instruments as directed. Assist employees in carrying out work assignments
Keep chemical regenerate tanks and other chemical tanks and/or storage bins at proper operating levels. Check operation of motors, bearings, hydraulic couplings on draft fans, and feed pumps
Comply with all safety rules related to the position and plant operations
Prepare and take the Edison Electrical Institute (EEI) POSS/MASS test measuring job responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem-solving skills
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in a technical field
Applicable degree fields include Engineering and Electronics Technology, Applied Process Technology, or a related field
Minimum 2.50 GPA
