Research Assistant Professor - Internal Medicine (Geriatrics)
The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatrics. The role involves pursuing basic, translational, and clinical research in geriatrics and geroscience, focusing on optimizing health span in older adults and investigating mechanisms of aging in a collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities
Contribute to research on optimizing health span in older adults and exploring the fundamental mechanisms of aging
Conduct research using animal models, including behavioral assessments, to investigate acute and chronic pain particularly in aging utilizing molecular biology, biochemistry, and epigenetic techniques
Contribute to training and directing activities of research assistants, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows
Review manuscripts for journals
Participate in departmental and institutional committees
Qualification
Required
PhD degree or equivalent
Established record of scholarly productivity related to basic science (cell, molecular biology, or genetics) and/or clinical investigation as demonstrated by application materials
Evidence of or potential for externally funded research as demonstrated by application materials
Experience with teaching or mentoring students at all degree and post-graduate levels
Interdisciplinary publication experience as demonstrated by application materials
