NEOGOV is looking for an experienced individual to join the St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Public Works as an Automotive and Equipment Mechanic III. This role involves performing skilled automotive maintenance and equipment repair on County owned or leased light vehicles while also mentoring lower-level workers.

Responsibilities

Lead lower level worker performing skilled automotive maintenance and equipment repair
Perform inspection, maintenance and preventive maintenance and repair gas- and diesel-powered vehicles
Perform welding repairs and light sheet metal fabrication
Provide mentoring and cross training to lower level workers to further their skill and knowledge base
Provide customer service by scheduling vehicle and equipment for repair and pick up
Monitor and obtain supplies and equipment to ensure the availability of inventory
Perform other duties as required or assigned
Perform assigned duties during mandatory snow shift

Required

Equivalent to technical training and five years of automotive and equipment repair at the master mechanic level, including one year in a supervisory or lead mechanic role
Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
