Responsibilities
Build and maintain long-term relationships with decision-makers in congressional offices, the administration and the private sector to efficiently book key guests for high-impact events and support Punchbowl News’ long-term goals
Research and pitch potential guests, draft and send outreach, and manage all speaker logistics, including interview prep, building out scripts, and preparing briefing materials for moderators
Work across the editorial and business teams to build consensus for programming goals, exercising strong editorial judgment and an adeptness at pivoting quickly if events are impacted by news
Maintain accurate records for all booking activity and guest contacts
Collaborate with the Marketing, Events, and Product teams as necessary to support broader company initiatives and ensure a seamless guest experience
Work closely with Punchbowl News reporters to amplify their work by securing high-value television, radio and podcast appearances
Qualification
Required
3+ years of relevant professional experience
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
Proficiency in Asana and other project management tools to track bookings, deadlines, and deliverables
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
A strong interest in news, politics, or public policy
Preferred
Prior experience in news media and events management is highly desirable
