Head of Corporate Security (US)
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, and they are seeking a Head of Corporate Security. Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining security strategies, programs, policies, and standards to protect people/employees, executives, property, and information for CIBC
Proactively identifying, evaluating, and recommending methods to mitigate threats to people, property, and information
Using a multilayered, intelligence-led, risk-based model to provide actionable advice and support to mitigate exposures to security threats. This includes conducting security risk reviews of premises, providing mitigation recommendations to management, closing identified gaps, and following recommended actions to completion
Assuming overall accountability for CIBC, US Region physical security equipment, security guard forces, and associated service suppliers, standards, policies, and guidelines set forth by Enterprise Physical Security and Information Security
Assuming overall regional accountability for managing internal/external fraud and insider risk-related analysis, investigations, and the management of proactive detection programs -in coordination with internal business partners, other financial institutions, and law enforcement
Managing regulatory and compliance investigations from whistleblowers, privacy, and AML as they relate to Code of Conduct violations and or/potential reputation, legal, and financial risks
Responsible for ensuring reduced risk of financial loss, reputational and/or life, and safety risks to CIBC via effectively managing internal/insider risk and external/organized crime threats; ensures CIBC is meeting legislative obligations
Increases opportunities to proactively detect and effectively monitor internal or external criminal activities against CIBC through the augmentation of technical and nontechnical intelligence sharing
Partners with retail business controls to identify and develop new analytics to detect potential defalcations
Providing ongoing recommendations in partnership with impacted groups, for closing control gaps, or for making improvements in controls resulting from investigative or consultative findings
Prepares and issues quarterly reports to internal reporting stakeholders/committees, including Audit, Senior Management, and Governance
Providing leadership, management, and development of regional Corporate Security and Investigations teams
Providing ongoing advice and direction on a variety of complex conceptual or interpretative issues
Articulating the goals and objectives of the organization, establishing performance expectations, and providing performance feedback that will motivate and encourage employees in the achievement of their goals and objectives
Qualification
Required
Extensive knowledge of criminal, business, and labor law and advanced knowledge of general and forensic investigative processes
In-depth knowledge of practices, procedures, and principles and latest methodologies for protection of information, people and property assets in the financial services industry together with a solid understanding of internal control processes with an emphasis on safeguarding of assets
Systemic, analytical, and conceptual thinker with creative problem solving skills sufficient to develop unique approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
Exceptional judgment in handling complex and highly confidential matters
Experience developing and implementing strategic team goals
Experience coaching employees and inspiring successful team performance
Ability to influence and inspire outcomes by sharing expertise to significantly promote and or negotiate on CIBC's behalf
Excellent communication and writing skills sufficient to prepare interpretative, analytical and creative materials involving precise articulation of ideas and opinions
