Responsibilities
Design and own the end-to-end architecture for production ML systems, including deployment, monitoring, retraining, and governance
Lead CI/CD practices and software quality standards for ML codebases
Partner closely with modelers to translate research into reliable, maintainable production systems
Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams while staying focused on ML systems rather than platform ownership
Drive decisions around scalability, observability, failure modes, and operational excellence
Act as the senior MLOps subject matter expert, influencing practices across the organization
Optionally mentor and technically guide 1–2 MLOps-focused engineers as the team grows
Qualification
Required
10+ years of overall engineering experience, with 5+ years in MLOps or production ML engineering
Strong Python skills and a track record of writing production-quality, maintainable software
Hands-on experience operating ML pipelines, model serving systems, and monitoring workflows in production
Deep software engineering fundamentals, with clear opinions on testing, code quality, and maintainability
Experience leading technical initiatives and shaping architecture without formal people management authority
Comfort operating as the most senior MLOps expert in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
