Security Maintenance Engineer
AWE is seeking a Security Maintenance Engineer to join their team of talented Engineers. The role involves conducting Defence Nuclear Security regulated maintenance and addressing breakdowns on site security equipment, while also supporting major projects and assisting contractors.
National Security
Responsibilities
Conduct Defence Nuclear Security regulated maintenance and address breakdowns on site security equipment such as CCTV, card access control, and building intruder alarm systems
Support the commissioning of major projects
Assist contractors with equipment installation
Aid security in verifying operational requirements capabilities
Lead planned maintenance tasks and breakdowns on site security system equipment including building intruder alarms, card access control systems, perimeter intrusion detection systems, CCTV and the management systems controlling them
Implement safe systems of work, work instructions, and adherence to all relevant legislation within area of responsibility
Conduct technical investigations and report generation to support modifications, abnormal events or design reviews
Work with a range of Stakeholders
Assist with project related installation and commissioning tasks
Qualification
Required
An engineering apprenticeship with minimum NVQ/Diploma level 3 in a related technical discipline
OR NVQ/Diploma level 2 in a relevant technical discipline plus industrial experience
You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV
Preferred
Experience of leading planned maintenance tasks and breakdowns on site security system equipment including building intruder alarms, card access control systems, perimeter intrusion detection systems, CCTV and the management systems controlling them
Demonstrable knowledge of Implementing safe systems of work, work instructions, and adherence to all relevant legislation within area of responsibility
Experience of technical investigations and report generation to support modifications, abnormal events or design reviews
Ability to work with a range of Stakeholders
Experience of assisting with project related installation and commissioning tasks
