Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for Ruby on Rails applications
Partner with Product and Design to plan, scope, and deliver features that align with business goals
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning for engineers
Ensure best practices in code quality, testing, security, and scalability
Identify and resolve technical and organizational challenges that impact team delivery
Support hiring, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
Qualification
Required
10+ years of professional software development experience, with significant hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails
3+ years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams
Strong understanding of web application architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud-based systems
Experience delivering and maintaining production-grade Rails applications at scale
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers
Experience working with distributed or remote teams is a strong plus
Preferred
Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Prior experience in a high-growth or global organization
