HR Manager – Printing Industry

AtWork Personnel is seeking an experienced HR Manager with printing industry experience to lead and support all day-to-day human resources functions in a fast-paced print production environment. This role will involve driving strong employee relations and ensuring compliance across an hourly production workforce while balancing strategic HR guidance with hands-on execution.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary HR leader and point of contact for employees and management
Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching, performance management, corrective action, and terminations
Conduct and oversee workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and issue follow-up
Partner with leadership to develop and maintain consistent HR practices, policies, and documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
Oversee employee documentation, personnel files, and HR recordkeeping
Manage leave administration, including PTO, FMLA, accommodations, and related tracking
Support benefits administration, employee questions, and open enrollment communication
Advise supervisors on best practices related to employee management, accountability, and communication
Support workforce planning, onboarding, and retention initiatives within the production environment
Identify HR trends, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership

Required

5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations leadership
Previous HR experience in the printing industry (required)
Experience supporting an hourly manufacturing or production workforce
Strong knowledge of HR compliance, documentation, and employee relations best practices
Proven ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills

Preferred

HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
Experience supporting print operations such as commercial printing, digital printing, offset printing, bindery, or finishing
Prior experience functioning as a standalone HR Manager or site HR lead
