Business Development Specialist- Southern, OH

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for expanding Careforth’s presence in underserved rural Ohio communities by building referral infrastructure and developing relationships with agencies that support caregiver needs.

Responsibilities
Serve as the face of Careforth across a dedicated rural Ohio territory, executing localized business development strategies that connect families with essential caregiver support services
Conduct market research to identify Medicaid-eligible populations, referral pathways, and agencies supporting aging, disability, and caregiver services
Build and maintain relationships with PASSPORT agencies, healthcare providers, and aging/disability advocacy groups to embed Careforth into the local care ecosystem
Plan and execute caregiver education sessions, community outreach, and referral-focused events
Generate and qualify professional referrals and ensure timely handoff to Account Managers
Serve as Careforth’s consistent in-person presence within rural communities
Track outreach activity, referral development, and lead outcomes in CRM systems
Share market intelligence, referral trends, and competitive insights with key stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned, potentially including home assessment and start-of-service activities
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience in business development, community outreach, or field sales required, preferably in a healthcare environment; experience working with Medicaid population is strongly desired
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Active or eligible Ohio Social Work license (LSW or LISW) highly preferred
Strong relationship-building and community engagement skills
Proven ability to work independently in a remote, field-based role
Ability to travel throughout the rural Southern Ohio territory (typically ~60-70% of the time). Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided per Careforth policy)
