Part Time Library Program Coordinator

NEOGOV is seeking a Part Time Library Program Coordinator to enhance the quality of life of Enid residents through efficient library operations and literacy promotion. The role involves collaborating with the library programming team to create and implement programs, coordinating events, and providing customer service to library patrons.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the library programming team to create, implement, and present programs and events in accordance with the library’s mission and long-term strategic plan
Coordinate presenters/volunteers; collect necessary paperwork and route for approval
Set up rooms/spaces, including moving furniture; operate basic A/V; manage registrations and attendance
Prepare purchase requests; track receipts; maintain grant support files as assigned
Draft event listings and flyers; update calendars and web entries
Support outreach events
Participate in the staffing rotation of service desks as assigned
Provide information and basic circulation help to patrons
Support digital literacy at a basic level
Participates in the selection and deselection of library materials in accordance with the library's collection development policy and procedure
Creates displays to promote library programs, events, or collections
Advocates for the library and its interests
Manages ongoing professional development, including library best practices and trends, community interests, and personal skills
Performs other duties as required

Required

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. /B.S.) in a related field
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of the composition, and grammar
Knowledge of techniques necessary to carry out effective and timely searches in a variety of databases and platforms
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record-keeping, and routine database activity, including the use of spreadsheets, record tracking applications, word processing, graphics, etc
Knowledge of communication methods and techniques, including presenting information to a wide variety of specific audiences
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Competency in using library technology
Ability to switch between tasks as required
Accurate and attentive to detail
Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service abilities
Ability to assist and support others
Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines
Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers
Normal vision, with or without corrective lenses
Ability to present information clearly and effectively to both large and small groups
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Able to handle a variety of situations and find practical solutions that help patrons and support library operations
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to create and interpret bar graphs
Part-time: Variable– 28 hours/week, typically scheduled between 8 am - 7 pm, Monday through Saturday
