System Administrator
Leidos is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support autonomous maritime projects’ hardware stacks by managing and maintaining Linux-based systems in an on-premises system integration lab. The role focuses on system configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the security and integrity of Linux servers and workstations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams for system deployments and operational readiness.

Responsibilities
Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our servers, networks, and system integration laboratories
Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability
Manage system patches, upgrades, and security hardening in compliance with DoD policies
Provide support for system backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity
Configure and maintain network services including routing, firewalls, DNS, and VLANS
Assist in managing system access, user accounts, and security configurations
Collaborate with teams to support software deployments and integration
Create and maintain documentation pertaining to system operating procedures
Participate in incident response and resolve issues related to system performance, security, and availability
Qualification
Required
US Citizen with an active SECRET clearance
4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience in being a System Administrator (or experience in a similar field)
Bachelor's degree in fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, etc
Experience with system security, patch management, and performance tuning
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, KVM)
Ability to set up new servers as needed and support hardware upgrades
Ability to apply user requirements to the analysis, planning, and design of technology systems
Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency
Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Linux certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+)
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)
Experience with RHEL 8/9/10
Knowledge of Dell Servers
