Responsibilities
Design multi-region HA with group replication or orchestrators
Plan sharding or partitioning and data lifecycle
Tune buffer pool, redo, and IO patterns
Build useful baselines and dashboards
Solve complex locking and contention
Automate build, patch, and drift detection
Enforce schema and release standards
Implement encryption, auditing, and compliance
Forecast capacity and manage cost
Coach DBAs and partner with engineering
Qualification
