They are seeking a County Director 1 for Child Welfare Services to oversee operations, manage staff, and ensure compliance with policies aimed at protecting children and families.

Responsibilities

Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved
Assures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements
Creates and maintains positive working relationships within the community and on the county DFCS Board
Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges social services employees
Facilitates communication within the agency on a specific case level, as well as on a procedures/policy level. Also, facilitates communication and positive relationships with community partners and external customers
Plans, administers and maintains the operations of social services programs

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program
Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Welfare Svcs Spec Spv (SSP073) or position equivalent
Related qualifications include social work and behavioral science degrees, including but not limited to the following: social science, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, criminal justice, education, public health and public administration
Related experience include the provision of services in a social services environment

Preferred

Three (3) or more years supervisory work experience with DFCS or comparable child welfare agency managing Child Protective Services (CPS), Foster Care and/or Adoptions
