American Unit, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Rhapsody Developer / System Software Programmer – Project Lead to support the Advanced Molecular Detection (AMD) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) initiatives. Responsibilities

Serve as a senior integration developer and technical lead for AMD/WGS initiatives
Design, develop, enhance, and support Rhapsody-based integration solutions
Gather requirements, perform gap analysis, and translate business needs into technical designs
Develop, maintain, and optimize Rhapsody routes using Symphonia Mapping Language (SML) and JavaScript
Transform and process data formats including HL7, XML, CSV, SOAP, and related healthcare standards
Build and validate SQL queries, including advanced joins, to support ETL and reporting processes
Support onboarding of providers and partners for:
Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR)
Electronic Test Orders and Results (ETOR)
Electronic Case Reporting (eCR)
Perform testing, validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation support
Monitor production systems to ensure data accuracy, performance, and uptime
Troubleshoot, debug, reprocess errors, and resolve integration issues
Ensure solutions follow industry best practices, security standards (HIPAA, CDC), and state/federal regulations
Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and code reviews for team members
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and status reports
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders across public health and IT

Required

5+ years experience with Orion Rhapsody Integration Engine (v6+)
5+ years experience with Symphonia Mapping Language (SML)
5+ years experience with HL7 (v2.3.1–2.5.1; ORU & ORM message types)
5+ years experience with JavaScript
3+ years experience writing advanced SQL join statements
2+ years experience with XML / XSD / XPath
2+ years experience with SOAP Web Services
Strong experience designing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise integrations
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and lead technical initiatives
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred

Public health, disease surveillance, or LIMS system experience
Windows Server administration
Knowledge of LOINC and SNOMED
Experience with DevOps / Jira
Experience with REDCap
Experience handling FASTQ files and demultiplexing
Excel, VBA macros, Power Automate / Flow
Rhapsody Certification (must be listed on resume if held)
