Responsibilities
Performing fundamental industry, market, company and valuation analysis
Building and updating financial statement models and comparable company spreadsheets
Summarizing valuation metrics across industries and holdings of investment teams
Generating portfolio optimization recommendations based on in-house fundamental analysts’ and macro team forecasts
Performing peer performance analysis
Monitoring changes to exchange rate, global bond yields, inflation and growth forecasts
Evaluating the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards of portfolio companies
Qualification
Required
Working toward a bachelor's degree with coursework in business, finance, accounting, data science, mathematics, investing, or economics
Completion of one accounting or finance course
Interest in financial markets and investing
Basic understanding of financial statements and Microsoft Excel
Quick learner with attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
The internship program requires a school year commitment of between 12-16 hours per week. This includes one full 8 hour day on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and 4 to 8 hours on a second day
The mentorship program requires a school year commitment of 1-2 hours per month to connect with the mentor
Participation in two full-day conferences in Boston, MA (September 17, 2026 and April 9, 2027) and four ½ day professional development, skills and educational workshops (October (hybrid), November (virtual), January (virtual) and February (in-person))
You must be authorized to work in the US, without visa sponsorship from Loomis Sayles, to be eligible to apply for this internship
Individuals on student visas are not eligible for this internship
