Responsibilities
Build and own Python-based internal tools and services that power pricing workflows, diagnostics, and AI-assisted rate reviews
Own and maintain performant SQL data models for downstream tools and analyses; familiarity with dbt or similar modeling frameworks is a plus
Develop and automate data pipelines and jobs (e.g., Prefect or similar) so the right data is available at the right time
Partner closely with Customer Success and Revenue Strategy to scope problems, iterate on solutions, and ship improvements
Own your work from initial scoping through production delivery, including testing, deployment, and iteration
Collaborate with platform engineers when work touches shared infrastructure or core services
Help improve engineering practices around reliability, observability, and documentation within the internal tools space
Qualification
Required
Strong Python experience building production data or data-powered apps
Deep SQL proficiency–you're comfortable modeling data, writing complex queries, and reasoning about performance
0–1 ownership experience: you've taken loosely defined problems, shaped solutions, and shipped them in a startup or small-team environment
Comfort working across the stack as needed–you don't need to be a frontend or data-viz specialist, but you can build pragmatic UIs or interfaces when the problem calls for it
Experience working closely with non-technical partners and translating real-world needs into technical solution
Bias toward action, iteration, and learning in imperfect environments
Preferred
Familiarity with dbt, Prefect, or modern data tooling
Experience supporting internal or customer-facing operational teams
Exposure to ML systems or model outputs (not building models, but working with their data)
