Product Developer
Aquascape, Inc. is a leading North American company specializing in the design and installation of water features. The Product Developer will focus on developing new products and improving existing ones for the water gardening industry, collaborating with various teams to achieve product initiatives.

Responsibilities
Work closely with off-site designers, vendors and engineers to develop and/or improve products
Have strong critical thinking skills and ability to solve challenging problems
Identify need for product improvement and develop processes to solve challenging problems as they occur
Simultaneously support multiple projects in various phases of development
Conduct testing and approval of prototypes, samples, and products to ensure the specifications and the Company’s quality standards are being satisfied
Develop and maintain metrics for on-time development of product
Partner with purchasing team to determine best sourcing strategy for the season
Research, develop and/or help support vendor relationships
Collaborate with the Quality Control and Warranty Department teams as needed
Gather information from construction team and customers to develop products that meet customer needs
Responsible for the technical support for sales of new and updated products
Travel domestically and internationally – position will require 1-2 extended trips to Asia annually
Proactively monitor and communicate competitive activity and market trends
Qualification
Required
2 or more years of previous experience in product development
Proven proficiency in combining design, engineering and business knowledge to develop new products
Strong critical thinking skills and excellent problem-solving skills
Extreme attention to detail
High level of organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate
Creative and able to think outside the box when developing new product
Knowledge of general Microsoft Windows environment, including Office 365, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint
Ability to commute to Saint Charles, IL 60174
Preferred
Previous experience working with overseas vendors
Knowledge of plastics manufacturing and/or electronic products such as pumps and lighting
Proficient with 3D CAD software
Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial design or equivalent
Product management: 2 years
