Engineer I - Validation

Responsibilities
Work with our NPD teams that includes architects, designers, applications, marketing, product, and test engineers to develop and execute Validation and Characterization plans for new ICs
Identify, direct, develop, implement, and improve lab bench setups, including honing measurement methods and data analysis to support validation and characterization of new Si products
Drive continuous improvement in validation capabilities, quality, and cycle time
Ability to build new innovative bench test hardware and software and will work closely with design, test development, application, new product engineers, project managers
Document evaluation results according to Microchip requirements
Review product requirements and prepare product specific validation plans
Perform new product validation on ADC’s, DAC’s, Digipots, Opamps, Current Sense Amplifiers, Voltage References, Comparators and Temperature Sensing products
Design validation test setups as required, includes circuit design and analysis, schematic capture, PCB design, ordering BOM and PCB/system construction
Develop automated bench setups for silicon validation using LabVIEW
Collect, analyze and publish data. Prepare validation reports
Qualification
Required
BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 0-3 years experience in the development of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits
Extensive knowledge on different analog and mixed-signal test methods, solutions and techniques
Schematic capture and PCB design
Experience using basic lab equipment such as power supplies, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators and signal analyzers required
Proficiency in data analysis
Proficiency in writing and documenting results
Excellent communications skills
Preferred
Working Knowledge of LabVIEW preferred
Circuit design and analysis – design, simulation and analysis of analog and mixed-signal measurement circuits preferred
Familiarity with SAR ADC's, ΔΣ ADC's, DAC's, Digipots, Temperature Sensors, Opamps, Comparators Voltage References, etc
