Flux Core Welder
Succession Planning for Railroads Investing in the Next Generation LLC is seeking a Welder responsible for various welding activities on active railway property and construction sites. This role ensures safety and compliance with Federal Railroad Association rules while assisting with general labor duties when not welding.

Responsibilities
Possess knowledge of GCOR and other on-track safety procedures according to state, federal, company, and the client’s rules or policies - work safely to prevent accidents and injuries
Adhere to and promote safe work practices as determined by the company and railroad
Plan out work activities with Operations team to develop best means and methods, including developing safety action plans or other emergency plans as needed
Ensures team has proper resources for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment and material
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures including maintaining eRail Safe certification
Complete written forms and reports, including FRA reports, as required
Potentially drive company vehicles if necessary and qualified
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, hearing protection, safety-toe boots or safety glasses when required
Qualification
Required
Minimum five years of experience welding non-pressurized pipe (36"–60") using a Miller Trail Boss with a suitcase flux-core setup
Possess knowledge of GCOR and other on-track safety procedures according to state, federal, company, and the client's rules or policies
Adhere to and promote safe work practices as determined by the company and railroad
Plan out work activities with Operations team to develop best means and methods, including developing safety action plans or other emergency plans as needed
Ensures team has proper resources for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment and material
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures including maintaining eRail Safe certification

Regularly required to talk and hear
Regularly lift and/or move heavy weights
Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to work nights, holidays, and weekends
Exposed to moving mechanical parts
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
May be exposed to live track/trains and high voltage
Exposure to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather
