The Applied Data Scientist Intern will work closely with a senior technical lead to build explainability and observability layers for LLM-driven automation systems, focusing on internal tooling and customer-facing analytics.

Responsibilities
Building interactive explainability tooling for LLM-based systems using React and D3.js
Developing and extending backend APIs in Python to support analytics and tooling
Writing efficient SQL and contributing to data workflows on Databricks
Translating model behavior, feedback-loop data, and quality signals into clear, actionable visualizations
Partnering closely with your mentor to design, implement, and ship features end-to-end
Iterating fast based on real stakeholder feedback from internal and customer-facing teams
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with React and modern JavaScript
Comfort building data visualizations and interactive analytical tools (D3 strongly preferred)
Solid Python + SQL skills and the ability to work across the full data stack
Strong product and design intuition - you care deeply about clarity and explainability
Extremely high agency: you move fast, unblock yourself, and deliver
Kind, curious, creative, and respectful - you approach problems and people with empathy, intellectual humility, and a genuine desire to understand, while bringing original ideas and treating collaborators with care
