Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of data center telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance with federal standards
Lead the installation, configuration, and repair of telecommunications hardware, including structured cabling, switches, routers, and power distribution systems
Implement and refine proactive monitoring and maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize system reliability
Analyze system performance trends, conduct root cause analysis during outages, and develop effective corrective action plans
Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures, integrating automation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
Manage physical security protocols, including strict access controls, audit procedures, and security compliance measures
Coordinate and lead outage recovery efforts, ensuring swift resolution and minimal impact on operations
Forecast future resource and equipment needs, manage lifecycle of hardware assets, and ensure scalable infrastructure growth
Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of technical mastery, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Maintain detailed documentation of equipment configurations, maintenance activities, and system changes within DCIM systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, supplemented by at least 8 years of relevant experience
In-depth knowledge of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), power distribution, electrical safety standards, and electrical protocols
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams effectively
Extensive experience in copper and fiber optic cabling termination, testing, and troubleshooting
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure in demanding environments
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or high-access areas
Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and on-call rotations, to support 24/7 operations
Must be eligible for an active Secret clearance

Preferred

Proficiency with environmental monitoring and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing and cabling standards
Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy
