Senior Water Resources Engineer

KPG99 INC is seeking a mid-level Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Virginia Beach, VA. Responsibilities

Perform drainage and stormwater management design in accordance with client specifications and regulatory requirements
Develop designs using current industry-standard engineering software
Analyze survey data, mapping, drawings, aerial photography, and topographic information
Conduct watershed studies and complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
Prepare contract documents including:
Scopes of work
Fee estimates
Engineering plans
Technical reports
Specifications
Cost estimates
Coordinate with engineers across multiple technical disciplines
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Collaborate with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and internal teams
Assist with construction-phase services and respond to client or contractor requests

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources from an ABET-accredited program
4–10 years of professional Water Resources engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Hydrologic modeling experience using: TR-55, TR-20, Rational Method
Hydraulic modeling experience using: HEC-RAS, HY-8, HydroCAD or other applicable modeling tools
Strong design experience in: Linear drainage systems, Stormwater management, Erosion and sediment control, Site development plan for Virginia and Hampton Roads municipalities
Experience with complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Proficiency in: MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and schedule adherence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Strong time management and ability to deliver projects within budget
Demonstrated experience in: Drainage design, Stormwater management systems, Erosion and sediment control design
Experience working with local and state agency clients

Preferred

Virginia DEQ Certified Stormwater Management Combined Administrator
Familiarity with: VDOT standards
Locally Administered Project (LAP) requirements and procedures
Experience with GIS applications
