Corporate Sales Manager

Courtyard by Marriott is seeking a Corporate Sales Manager who is a hospitality champion with a talent for sales. This role will handle catering and group room business in the Corporate, Sports, and Government markets, focusing on strategizing and closing business opportunities to maximize revenue.

Responsibilities

To exceed the room revenue targets for the hotel by month and year to date and have market growth that exceeds the comp set REVpar performance
Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings via outside calls and solicitation
Processes all business correspondence within acceptable time limits. Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required. Manages and maintains account files
Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc. and knows how to sell against them
Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs
Consistently meet or exceed sales goals
Create group resumes and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel. Ensure hotel staff follow through on requests
Need to be onsite for events to greet clients and ensure expectations are met (this position requires working some nights and weekends)
Collaborate with the revenue management team to adjust pricing strategies based on demand trends, competitors' performance, and market conditions
Work closely with the operations team to ensure the flawless execution of group events and catering, providing regular feedback to improve future services
Must be a "face in the community" by being active in civic and business organizations that will aid in referral business and assist in positioning our hotel as the premier focus service lodging facility in the market
Proactively develop and manage accounts and have a process of identifying, soliciting, and closing on new business to ensure weekly, monthly and annual targets are achieved
Generate Banquet Menus that will drive Banquet/Catering Sales, re-enforce the hotel Food and Beverage concept, increase top line revenue and through price point drive top line
Develop strategies to ensure high client satisfaction, leading to repeat business and referrals. Handle post-event follow-ups to secure feedback
Ensure accurate and up-to-date records in the Customer Relationship Management system, allowing for effective tracking of client interactions and business pipelines
Assist the Director of Sales in preparing and adjusting sales forecasts and budgets

Required

Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment with a great eye for detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimum supervision
Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
Problem-solving ability
Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
Two years experience in hotel sales with a proven track record
