Machine Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

Perform all preventative maintenance work on DMLM machines in accordance with GE specifications
Document all preventative maintenance work on DMLM machines in accordance with GE specifications
Track and manage DMLM machine maintenance activities to reduce downtime
Assist OEM vendors with the installation of new additive DMLM machines
Provide troubleshooting support for common machine faults
Act as a machine technical resource for DMLM technicians
Manage machine spare parts inventory
Must be willing to do shift work which may include second shift
Conduct experiments and inspections on assigned processes, working with engineers and leadership to develop and document process improvements
Take ownership for assignment lab areas including maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, environmental health and safety, and shop cleanliness
Follow technical plans to meet desired manufacturing objectives
Adhere to a detailed schedule for a complex engineering and / or manufacturing development work scope
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Support preparation of invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Perform periodic maintenance and safety inspections
Meet quality system requirements for aerospace applications

Required

Associate's Degree or High school diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

Preferred

At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering
Manufacturing experience in a process engineering environment
Experience in one or more of the following process technologies: direct laser melting equipment operation, general machine tool operation, hand benching, EDM wire, and/or quality inspection techniques
Experience with Laser systems and Laser diagnostic equipment
Experience with machine electrical work and schematics
Experience with machine pneumatics
Experience with PLC diagnostics and troubleshooting
Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office
Experience using statistical tools and concepts (Excel, Minitab, etc.)
Experience performing design of experiments and associated documentation
Experience in aerospace quality systems
Experience working a team-based environment
