Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Serve as the lead engineer for high-tech facilities, including ground-up data centers, aerospace projects, and international airports
System Design Expertise: Direct the design of complex HVAC systems, central plant architectures, plumbing, and specialized fire suppression systems (including AFFF and dry chemical)
Code Authority: Demonstrate expert application of local and national building codes (IBC, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, and Fuel Gas codes)
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clients and internal multidisciplinary teams to ensure mechanical solutions integrate seamlessly with electrical and structural requirements
Team Mentorship: Train and mentor mechanical staff, delegating design components to project engineers and BIM/CAD specialists while maintaining oversight of technical rigor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
10-15 years of verifiable professional experience in complex mechanical design
Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required, with the willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states
Deep proficiency in the entire engineering project lifecycle, from initial concept through final commissioning
Ability to pass federal background checks and security screenings for specialized contracts
