Responsibilities

Architect and engineer ultra-low temperature systems that rely on precise air or gas flow dynamics
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ULT storage equipment into larger projects, ensuring seamless functionality and performance
Use computer-aided design (CAD) and simulation software (e.g., Solidworks) to model thermal behaviors and predict the performance of systems and components
Oversee the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of ULT Systems/equipment. Diagnose and resolve issues related to temperature control, airflow, and system malfunctions
Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, maintenance logs, and procedure guides
Develop and enforce safety protocols for handling cryogenic fluids and operating systems, adhering to strict industry standards and regulations
Conduct tests on ULT systems to validate cooling performance and assess material behavior at ultra-low temperatures
Work with external suppliers and partners to procure and co-design specialized system components

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics is required
Experience in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, with the ability to perform complex flow calculations
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and simulation tools for thermal and fluid dynamics analysis
Practical skills in building, testing, and debugging ULT systems and test rigs
Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to lead and contribute to the resolution of complex technical problems
Excellent written and oral communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and external partners
Comprehensive understanding of the safety precautions required when working with cryogenic fluids and high-pressure systems

Preferred

A Master's or Ph.D. preferred
In-depth knowledge of cryogenic refrigeration systems, ultra-low temperature physics, and materials behavior at cryogenic/ULT temperatures is preferred
