Patient Financial Services Specialist
HirePower Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Patient Financial Services Specialist. The role involves executing out-of-network authorization requests and facilitating managed care member services tasks to ensure continuity of care for patients.
Responsibilities
Execute Out-of-Network Authorization Request for patients who are seeking treatment who are currently enrolled in a Non-Participating Plan to promote continuity of care
Facilitate Managed Care Member Services tasks such as Primary Care Provider changes, Insurance Plan changes, Explanation of Benefits, and Insurance Eligibility Verification
Conduct outreach to members via mail/telephone calls to obtain appropriate documentation for patients to complete their health insurance enrollment and/or facilitating Hospital Financial Assistance Programs
Resolve Customer Service inquires related to insurance enrollment, eligibility inquires and/or other inquires related to Financial Counseling via telephone and/or in-person
Conduct patient interviews and/or prescreening process to obtain identifying/qualifying demographics, biographic and financial information to complete the New Patient Registration process
Serve as liaison when/where required between patient and appropriate clinical service line to ensure the continuum of patient care and satisfaction
Accurately update and revise demographic, biographic and insurance information into our Patient Accounting System EPIC
Prepare and produce statistical reports relating to job function processes for Senior Management
Add patients to the financial counseling tracking system for follow-up and documentation
Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital records; uses discretion when discussing patient and hospital matters
Addresses patients, visitors, and co-workers in a courteous and respectful manner
Promotes a positive and welcome attitude that fosters a conducive workplace environment, while enhancing and upholding the organization’s Mission, Vision and Value statements
Meet all compliance standards/requirements such as Annual Physical Assessment, Multi Star Training; Right to know; Fire Drill participation, etc
Monitor and process patient accounts including financial assistance intake, follow-ups, pending appointment estimates, and insurance recertifications
Attends in-service and departmental meetings
Follows corporate and hospital regulations, policies, and procedures
Participate in Performance Improvement Activities
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred
Bilingual - English and Spanish
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Microsoft Office Suite
Effective communication skills
