The intern will assist with programming, marketing, facility operations, and special events while gaining experience in various divisions of the department.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Assists with overall monitoring of participants and volunteers in recreation programs and at special events
Works with all Parks and Recreation supervisors to assist in regular programming and event execution
Communicates regularly with the Program and Marketing Manager through weekly meetings and informal communications
Assess and mitigates risks that arise during the course of programming
Maintains positive public relations with all program participants, citizens, and staff
Works alongside other City interns to conduct research, complete projects, and give presentations to City Staff when appropriate
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Parks and Recreation related undergraduate or graduate degree program
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
First Aid/CPR certification required (will be provided)
Ability to successfully perform the responsibilities identified in this job description
