Responsibilities

You will have the pleasure of managing design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling
Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement
Work with manufacturing engineering teams to drive consistency & commonality into designs across LM Space Products
Monitoring the design sequence of operations and specifying procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
Identify opportunities with existing builds to improve quality and schedule with changes to flow or new tooling
Recommend capital expenditures based on new technology within industry
Providing guidance to manufacturing engineers regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.) or an equivalent of related experience
Must be able to interface with senior leadership, customers, and various functional organizations
Ability to drive change through affordability initiatives, driving successful change by engaging stakeholders and building alignment
Experience with composites, mechanisms, antenna, electronics or machine shop manufacturing
Understanding of design for producibility (DFx/DFm) principles
Direct experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar technical authority in production
Knowledge of CAD systems (CREO) and Manufacturing ERP systems, such as VE-CAMs and SAP
Security Clearance: Secret

Preferred

Strong, effective communication skills to include presentation of complex information
Change agent mindset demonstrated through recent implemented improvements highly desired
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills complimenting the ability to make timely, balanced decisions
Experience in leading or supporting large Change Management initiative, driving successful change by engaging stakeholders and building alignment
Ability to interface with Site, Space, and Corporate Leadership
Ability to work self-directed, self-starter and motivated
Ability to influence and lead
Experience coaching and/or mentoring
Experience working across organizational boundaries and with leaders at multiple levels across functions
