Facilities Mechanical Engineer - Senior

Responsibilities
Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for the Groton shipyard and new facilities under construction
Design and execute infrastructure construction projects
Engineering and developing the scope of work
Preparing bid documents and vendor selection
Securing funding and preparing purchase requisitions
Safety and environmental compliance
In field project management of vendors and EB personnel while maintaining the project budget, schedule, and documentation
Interface with local building officials, safety, environmental, security, fire safety, maintenance, and various EB affected departments depending on project
Interface with Naval oversight
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Engineering
5+ years of engineering experience (Senior or above)
Internal employees must be senior level or above
Preferred
Experience in facilities engineering, plant engineering, or construction
self-motivated
be able to work independently
possess good written and oral communications skills
maintain a questioning attitude
as well as be proficient technically with a willingness to continuously learn
